Portugal continues to consolidate its place as one of the most interesting food destinations in Europe. The 2026 Michelin Guide Portugal brought news that reinforces this trend even further: 10 new restaurants earned their first Michelin star, bringing the total to 56 starred restaurants in the country.

For a relatively small country, the number is impressive. Few countries of similar size have such a concentration of restaurants recognised by the guide. The result is an extremely dynamic food scene, where chefs explore everything from traditional Portuguese ingredients to contemporary haute cuisine techniques.

Lisbon and Porto remain important hubs, but fine dining is also spreading to other regions of the country, showing the diversity of Portuguese produce and culinary influences.

Below are the 10 restaurants that earned a Michelin star for the first time in the 2026 edition.
